Pumpkin Patch

Last night we went to the pumpkin patch with some of our neighbors. We had such a great time. 21 of us loaded up in 4 cars and took off to find the pumpkins of our dreams. We had a lot of fun and brought home some really great looking ones that will be tons of fun to carve.

Here we are in the pumpkin patch. The kids really enjoyed picking out their own!

So...if any of you know Kaleb, you know that when he has to pee, he drops his drawers and takes care of business. Doesn't matter where he is, he just pees. So, while we were at the pumpkin patch, he did what he does best and marked his territory right there in the middle of the field. I love that kid! He just does his OWN thing.

Uncle Matthew was able to come with us also. I think he enjoyed himself. He got a pumpkin too.

The Youngs. They are our next door neighbors. We are so lucky to live in such a fun neighborhood with really great friends.
Here's the whole group. We had a blast!!
Cole and Josh. What studs!
Me and Liz. It's our turn to take a picture with the hay bale pumpkin.
After we were done picking pumpkins, we went to dinner with the Youngs. We had yummy Tin Plate Pasta, Roy's pizza and for dessert, a quick trip into Pollies for some penny candy (that now costs 2 pennys). Thanks for a good time guys!!

Trip to the Dentist

We recently made a trip to the dentist. I know, it's not a big deal, but I had to make it a big deal for Kaleb. He was a little unsure, so we took pictures and I told him I would blog it for him so he could see his pictures on the computer. The kids did really well. Talon is always good. He lets them polish and floss, and this time he even got x-rays. Kaleb at least sat long enough to be flossed and have his teeth counted. That's a big step. Last trip we could hardly get him to sit in the chair. Josh and I are happy to report that our teeth...in the words of the dentist...are "disgustingly clean". That's what I like to hear.

Talon and Kaleb waiting for their turn to see Dr. Thompson.
Talon, Coby and Kaleb. Take a good look at Talon. He's recently discovered the art of eye-crossing. He cracks me up!

What a good patient.

Dinner With Friends

A couple of weeks ago, Josh and I went to a wedding dinner in Richfield for one of his former high school students. It's always fun to visit because we get to see old friends. While we were at the dinner, Natalie, one of our old neighbors, watched our kids for us. When we got back, we visited for a little bit and then went to dinner at Pizza Hut. It was a lot of fun and so nice the see their family again.

Our Coby. He looks a little scary with a few missing teeth. This is a face I've never seen before.

I'm not sure what's with the weird faces. This is Kaleb, although, in this picture he looks a lot like Talon.

Thanks again Natalie for watching the kids!!

I'll Be Back!

It's been a long and jam-packed 2 months. We lost our camera right before we moved into the new house and then when we found it a couple weeks ago, we couldn't find the cord to plug it into the computer. Now I just need to charge the battery and I'll be ready to update the blog. Soon...I promise!!

Happy 4th Brithday Talon!

Our Tal turned 4 on July 15th. I can't believe he is 4 already. Seems like just yesterday that he was a brand new baby. He is growing up to be such a good boy. He loves to play outside on his bike, jump on the tramp and wrestle with the neighbor kids. He is good to his brothers and is a wonderful help around the house...picking things up, bringing in the dishes and making his bed. Happy Birthday Talon. We love you so much.

4th Birthday...Talon and Daddy.
For Talon's actual birthday, we went swimming in the afternoon and then came back and had dinner and ice cream bars. We waited until Sunday to have a party with cake and ice cream and gifts so Uncle Chet could be there. We had that party at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

USU, A Birthday and a Bit of Grass

Every year Josh and I get invited to play in the Alumni band concert and every year, we say we should go. Well, this year we did. We figured since my parents were in town and Josh's parents are close and my cousin now lives here that we'd have enough hands to keep the kids entertained while we played. Our families did a great job with the kids and we really enjoyed ourselves. It was fun to go back to Logan and see places that brought back fond memories of the first 2 years of our marriage.

I am in this picture, only I'm a bit hidden. You can see the top of my bassoon sticking out of the band though.
There's Josh...playing his trumpet.
This year my birthday was a treat. I got to spend it with family as usual, but my Mom and Dad were here to celebrate too. It's been a while since my Mom made me a birthday cake and I quite enjoyed it. Thanks Mom!!

Everyone is excited to eat Nana's cake.
Well, we moved into our house on August 5th and just about a week later, we were ready to put in the yard. I don't know how people go years without grass. That 1 week about killed me with the dirt. There were 5 houses on the block that needed at least 1500 square feet of lawn, so with all of us put together, we ordered around 20,000 sq. ft. Since we needed so much, we got a really great deal on the lawn. We were all so excited to be able to have an instant yard.

Here's the house before we started the front yard.
Mom and Dad came down to help us with the grass. A few different neighbors and some of their family also helped. We were sure glad to have the help too. Here is Dad taking a sod roll to it's assigned spot in the yard. Notice how good Cole and Liz's yard looks over there. Ahh...it's going to be so nice.
Here we all are working on the side yard between our house and the Young's.
Our backyard. Looking good. Talon is already enjoying it.
Cole, not doing much of anything. J/K. I'm sure he was just getting ready to go get another sod roll. His brother-in-law is in the red shirt. He and his family came to help Liz and Cole, and ended up helping us too. Thanks guys!! The help was greatly appreciated.
Dad, Liz and Cole. Arms full!
Coby could care less that there is grass on the ground. He'd still rather sit in the dirt.
Sprinklers on for the first time. The grass looks SO good.
Front yard done. YIPEE!!!
