6 days Old

This picture was taken on December 19th when Bode was 6 days old. Precious!

Kaleb and the Camera

This is what happens when Kaleb, or any of the kids for that matter, get ahold of the camera. Cute kid isn't he?

Bode's First Bath

Here is Bode having his first bath. Of course he screamed, like most newborns, but I'm sure deep down inside he felt good. He did love to have his hair washed though.

Getting dressed.

Too cute!

Baby Bode

Well, baby #4 FINALLY made it. I ended up being 3 days overdue. Doesn't sound like that long, but when you're ready...you're ready! I was due Friday, December 10th and when Sunday came around and I hadn't had the baby, I decided I'd take my bassoon and play in the Messiah production that our community puts on (I secretly hoped I'd blow in my horn so hard I'd break my water, but that didn't happen). Originally, I wasn't going to play because I was going to have a 2 day old baby. But, since I wasn't doing anything else, and I love it, I decided that would be the best use of my time that evening. When I got home, I'd had it. I was ready. So I pushed on some acupressure points and started having regular contractions. We headed to the hospital about 2 hours later, a little prematurely because 1: it's an hour away and you never know what's going to happen, and 2: I had to have antibiotics for GBS. I wanted to make sure I had a full dose before delivering. When we got there I was dilated to 7, but not in any pain. So, I slept a while and rested. The next morning (December 13th) I was still dilating and still not in any pain. I walked the halls, ran warm water over my belly, listened to music, rocked in the chair, basically did anything I could think of to get things going.

Here I am...in labor. Yes, actually dilating and still smiling. Crazy!
Me and Josh
By 2:30 that afternoon, I was fully dilated and effaced, but still no pain and still no baby. So, my midwife decided we should break my water. After a little pitocin (the drug from HELL) to make sure my contractions were strong enough to keep the baby in the birth canal, a few really nasty contractions, more crying than I've ever done in labor, and 2 pushes, we had baby BOY #4!! Bode McCoy was born at 5:34pm weighing 8lbs 12oz and measuring 21 1/2". We couldn't be more thrilled to add another handsome boy to the bunch.

Sorry for the graphic pictures, but it is MY journal right? :) These pictures are so special to me because Josh delivered Bode. He took the EMT class during fall semester 2010 and was able to practice delivering babies using the Annie doll. I asked our midwife if she'd let Josh help to get a little extra practice on a real baby and she said absolutely. I was thrilled (so was he) that he got to help. He did a great job too!

Way to go Daddy!

Josh and I with our midwife Dixie. She has delivered all 4 of our boys in the same hospital in the same room.

She does LOVE her babies.

Baby Bump

I didn't get a ton of pictures while I was pregnant with this baby, but who does with baby #4 right? These were taken 2 weeks before I delivered, so about 8 1/2 months pregnant. So excited to find out what we're having!

Visiting Santa

We went to the light parade in Manti this year and they had Santa at the high school afterward. The kids were super excited to sit on his lap and tell him what they wanted. It was a long wait in line, but we did finally make it. After they told Santa what they wanted they got a bag of candy. Can't beat that!

Coby...he loved Santa, but when he asked Coby what he wanted for Christmas, Coby just starred at him and didn't say a word. It was so funny.
Talon...he asked for a toy shotgun.
Kaleb...he asked for a toy bow and arrow.

Silly Boys

Talon and Kaleb found my hair extensions and asked me to put them in their hair. There are a lot of adjectives I could think of to describe the way they look, but I don't want to hurt any feelings. One thing I will say is that they are much cuter as boys than girls.

Tagging Sheep

Not to go into too much detail, but basically they shave the little sheepies backsides and put a tag in their ears. I like to think it's so they don't get dingleberries (my favorite sheep hearding word-had to say it), but that's not why. Ask a farmer. Anyway, I am blogging these pictures for me...because I think Josh looks like a stud when he's helping with the sheep. Love you!!

Snow Fun

Just a few fun pictures of the boys in one of our first snow storms. They love to play in the snow!!

Trick-or-Treating

This Halloween we had a super hero theme (except for Josh and I). Talon was Spiderman, Kaleb was Batman and Coby was Robin. Each of their costumes was stuffed with muscles which made them even cooler. We had fun Trick-or-Treating with our friends, The Summers, and the kids scored in the candy department...of course. We had to stop halfway through due to a crazy downpour and we were soaked when we got home. Poor Talon was sick, so he and Josh stayed home and handed out candy.

Kaleb and Coby ready to go.
Check out those muscles!
Getting their loot.

This was my costume. I'm supposed to look like I swallowed a volleyball, since I have a ball sized baby in there. I made the costume myself out of white felt.
Josh dressed up as the same thing he always dresses up as...a band teacher/himself. One of the kids in his class came as "Mr. Rasmussen" this year. It was hilarious and their outfits almost match which was not planned. So funny!

Here is a picture of my three studs in their costumes with their big muscles.

Look out bad guys!!
