Carving Pumpkins and Halloween

It's been a few years since we carved pumpkins at our house, but we decided we need to get back into the habit. The kids really enjoyed scraping out the pumpkins and thanks to the new carving saws, they were able to do a lot of the carving on their own pumpkins themselves. We had a blast. It's going to be one of our new traditions for sure.

Coby...didn't really want to put his hands in the pumpkin snot, but liked being at the table and checking everything out for a while.
Josh helping Kaleb get his pumpkin ready for cleaning out. Look at Talon, so hard at work.
Our neighbors, Sandra and Luke, came to carve with us. Next year, hopefully, we'll get Danny and Ethan to come too!

Everyone hard at work. Mollie, Coby, Kaleb, Josh and Talon.
So fun!

Grandma and Grandpa came to visit and check out the fun. It's nice to have them close so they can stop in.

Great work Kaleb.

Good job Tal.
Here we all are with all of the pumpkins we carved. Thanks to Josh, there are some that don't have plain triangle eyes, nose and a typical mouth. He is so creative!
The kids really loved Halloween this year too. Unfortunately, Talon was getting Pneumonia while we trick-or-treated and we didn't know it. It was also kind of cold so they didn't want to stay out too long, but they did love it and they had so much fun dressing up.

Kaleb...Buzz Lightyear, Luke...a Bee, Coby...Dumbo and Talon...Power Ranger.

Snow

Yesterday we had our first snowfall. The kids were so excited! They were asking to go out and play at 7am. We bundled them up and took them out. They all had a blast playing with the neighbors, eating snow and throwing snow balls.

Kaleb, Jackson, Keaton and Talon...look out!
Kaleby
Luke, Coby and Kaleb...they love riding the teeter-totter, especially in the snow.
Every time I looked out to see what Kaleb was doing, he was laying on his belly licking the snow. He loved it!

Poor Coby, he wanted to throw snowballs like the other kids, but every time he got a handful to throw, it would fall out of his hands before he could throw it at anyone. He sure did love playing in it though.

Coby was so funny. I forget that he was too small to REALLY play in the snow last year. So yesterday was his first REAL experience with it. I had been visiting with some of the other Moms when I found him over by the air conditioner eating snow. He cracks me up!

New Addition

Our niece, Miss Franny G, has finally made her appearance! She was born on Oct. 20th at 5:11am weighing 7 lbs. 9oz. and was 19 1/4 inches long. She is the most precious and perfect thing ever and we haven't even met her. The kids are so excited to have their first cousin. What a sweet little blessing in all of our lives. We love you Miss Franny!

What To Do With a Wedding Dress

The Moms on our block...well, lets just say we like to have fun and laugh a lot. Tonight, we decided that we would reunite ourselves with our wedding dresses. No one ever puts on their dress and if they do, they don't know what to do in it. Well we know what to do in our dresses...jump on the tramp of course! We were silly and crazy and we laughed until we cried. Thanks for the fun girls!

Is it just me, or is this pose a little Marilyn Monroe?

Mollie and Liz...isn't she so graceful?

This picture made us all just about pee our pants. Look how small Shanae looks! She's a mini-me! LOL!! We love it!

Man...we are crazy! Poor Shanae...always a bridesmaid, never a bride. Ha ha...we love you Shanae. :)

Our Festive Home

I have had so much fun decorating the house this year. I'm sure it's because we have a new house, but it's also because the kids are starting to get really excited about holidays now that they are getting older. We went to the pumpkin patch the other day and when we went, I already had plans in mind for the front of the house. I pulled all of the dead flowers out of my pots and picked pumpkins, that I think are just the right size, to go in them. We got corn stalks from Mom and Dad and picked up a mini bale of straw and some smaller pumpkins for the porch. I love the way the house looks when you pull up...especially at night. It's going to be fun to see how it looks when the pumpkins are carved and lit for Halloween!

The front of our new house. Decorated for Halloween.
The other thing that has been fun is having a plant shelf. I put most of my Halloween decorations up there so the kids couldn't touch them. It's been nice to be able to enjoy them and know that they won't get broken.

General Conference

Cousin Matthew got tickets to General Conference this year and invited Josh and I to go. Of course we accepted and we had a blast. Aunt Hailee watched the boys for us while we enjoyed the afternoon actually listening to everything the speakers had to say. Thanks Matthew for taking us!!
